dr  Dragan Marković Markus

        

He was born on the 14th of February in Šabac where he finished primary and high school. In 1977 he started the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad; a department of painting. In 1981 he graduated in the class of Prof. Boško Petrović, three months before the deadline. Due to the overall engagement and success during the studies, in addition to participation in the management of the Academy, he was delegated in the Council of the University.

In September 1982, he worked in the gymnasium Vuk Karadžić in Loznica, as a professor of visual arts. Every year from 1975 to 1990, he was involved in the portrait art in Dubrovnik, and in Venice in 1991. Long studying period in France and Italy.

Since September 1995, he has been working at the School of Applied Arts in Šabac as a professor of painting and drawing. In addition to teaching, he has been dedicated to his artistic training. In 1995 he started post-graduate studies at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, and received his Master’s degree in painting in 2000 in the class of Prof. Milan Blanuša. Thanks  to technical and organizational skills, he became a member of the Republican Commission for entrance exams in art schools, Member of the Committee for drafting tasks for entrance exams in art schools (in 2002). On several occasions, he was invited to consultations about the changes and harmonization of plans and programs of art schools in the Republic of Serbia in 2002 by Ministry of Education.

Ina desire to pursue his further education and to continue professional development, he enrolled in PhD studies of Fine Arts, at the Faculty of Arts and Design, Džon Nezbit university in Beograd. His mentor was professor Miloš Šobajić. PhD graduated from painting 2017.

In front of the Commission consisting of the regular professors of the University he fulfilled the requirements for appointment to status of a professor in the artistic field Drawing and Painting, at the Faculty of Philology and Arts in Kragujevac (2012), at the Faculty of Arts in Zvečan (2013), at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (2015).  

He held a lecture on the topic "The Work of Art reflects the self of the artist”, organized by ULSS. The same lecture was included in the official program of the International exhibition  on September 13, 2013. by MajdanArt.  He is a member of ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia), vice-president of Art Council of ULUS, 2011-2013.  A member and president of judges on a few republic exhibitions.
The most significant membership in the jury was to award“Autumn exhibitions” in Belgrade in 2012. Lives and works  in Sabac. Now-as-afree artist and and president  of the ULSS.
